Alaine Wilcox was born in Lehigh, Oklahoma on June 2, 1925 to Frank and Sophia (Hodanek) Kozak. She passed from this life on September 16, 2008 at her home in Seiling, Oklahoma.
While a child, Alaine moved with her parents to Coalgate where she attended school and graduated from high school. She then attended college at East Central College in Ada, Oklahoma where she attained her degree and entered the field of teaching. Her first teaching assignments were in the Richmond and Seiling public schools and it was during this time frame that she and Roger Wilcox met.
On June 20, 1953 Alaine and Roger were united in marriage in her former home town of Coalgate. They established their home in Seiling and eventually became the parents of three sons – Paul, Sam and Tom. In addition to her professional work experience as a public school teacher, Alaine later worked in Taloga as a case worker for the Department of Human Services and in Seiling as Assistant Town Clerk.
As an infant, in 1925, Alaine was baptized into the fellowship of The Roman Catholic Church. She remained a faithful member throughout her lifetime and was a member of the Seiling Roman Catholic Church at the time of her passing.
Preceding Alaine in death were her beloved husband, Roger and her son, Paul. Surviving family members include her sons, Sam Wilcox of 1417 Wilcox Lane in Yukon, Oklahoma and Tom Wilcox of 101 S. Locust in Seiling, Oklahoma. She is also survived by many friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Brumfield Cemetery, Friday, September 19, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Taloga. Condolences may be made at shawfuneralhome.net.
