Alan Dean Shipman went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 20, 2010 at the young age of 13. He was born February 10, 1997 in Perryton, Texas. He and parents, Johnny and Linda Shipman made their home in Arnett, Oklahoma.

Alan attended school at Arnett and was a member of the 7th grade. He loved reading books and had won several reading trophies. He took 2nd place in the SSA Essay contest with his piece "My Best Friend", written about his best friend, his dog Ruffis. Alan was an exceptional student and was on the Honor Roll with a 4.0 grade average.

Alan had many interests which included spending time with his Dad and family and playing with his dogs. He had a special interest in the study of Paleontology, especially dinosaur bones. He liked to spend time at church participating in the youth activities. Alan was an avid reader and could be found much of the time enjoying a good book.

Alan was baptized at the age of 10 and was a faithful member of the Arnett Church of Christ. He was a member of the Leadership Training for Christ team and received several achievement awards.

Family members preceding him in death are his grandpa Alan Diller, Great-great grandmother Angie Range, grandma Virginia Range, and aunt Brenda Range.

Loved ones remaining to cherish his memory are parents, Johnny and Linda (Range) Shipman of Arnett, OK; grandpa Ray and Lucy Range of Arnett, OK; great-grandpa and grandma Dorman and Treasa Diller of Garden City, KS; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Kari Diller of Woodward, OK and their children, Creed, Patience, and Paige, who are Johnny and Linda Shipman's grandchildren; and Alan's Godparents, uncle Rick and aunt Vickey Knight of Higgins, TX; and other family members and friends.

Alan will be dearly missed by all of us.
