Alice Olive (McMahon) Hale was born on April 13, 1938, in Mutual, Oklahoma to Ernest and Olive (Grove) McMahon in the middle of a snowstorm. She passed from this life in Vici, OK at the age of 84 on November 11, 2022 with her family by her side. With the marriage of her mother to Alvin Fowler, Alice and her sisters Wanda and Ann grew up in the Woodward area with eight siblings. Alice attended Woodward Public Schools. On January 15, 1954, at the age of 15, she was united in marriage to Vestal Hale. The young couple lived with Vestal's parents in Vici and continued their education at Vici High School.
Alice and Vestal became the proud parents of son Rex Leverl on Easter Sunday, April 10, 1955. Son number two was born August 20, 1956, Leo Randy. On June 21, 1959, Father's Day, daughter Vesta Renee was born. The family was completed on August 19, 1962, with the birth of Rena Jo. In the spring of 1955 Alice and Vestal moved to Adrian, TX. and in 1956 they moved to Arkansas where they both were employed by the State of Arkansas as Prison Guards for a girl's reformatory near the town of Little Rock. In 1959 they returned to Vici and in the early 60's they resided in KS. Alice attended Beauty College in Wichita, Kansas and earned her cosmetology license. Upon returning to make their home in Vici, Alice worked as a beautician and owned Alice's Beauty Shop for many years. In 2001 she began employment as a supervisor in the kitchen at the William S. Key facility in Ft. Supply, OK. She retired from that position in 2011.
Alice liked crafts, baking wedding and birthday cakes, going to the Casino's and wearing her turquoise jewelry. She loved to go to horse races and rodeos. Her favorite of all was spending time with family and friends. She was a big Vici Indian supporter and attended all sporting events of her kids and grandkids. She was always up for camping and fishing, especially trolling and fishing at Lake Texhoma. Through the years Alice and Vestal took several into their home, Joan Ferrell, Kay and Jeremy Bell were always special and spent many hours in the Hale household along with numerous others.
Alice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Vestal, parents, Ernest and Olive (Grove) McMahon Fowler, her step father, Alvin Fowler, in-laws, Leo and Garnett Hale, great-grandson Reece Andrew Beck, brothers; Sonny Fowler, Bobby Fowler, Donnie Fowler and Ernest "Ernie" McMahon, Jr., sister; Ellen Brumley, brothers-in-law, George Eastman, J.W. Evans, David Janow and Ernest Albin; sisters-in-law, Gerri Eastman, Rosalee Evans, Midge Fowler and Georgetta Fowler. A niece, Cindy Eastman Pederson, nephews, Jamie Fowler and Marty Evans and other loved ones. Alice is survived by her children, Rex Hale of Vici, OK, Leo Randy Hale and wife Rita of Vici, OK, Renee Green and husband Paul of Elk City, OK and Rena Jo Beck and husband Randy of Vici, OK; her grandchildren, Tyson, Tyler, Brayden Hale, Summer Megli, Shana West, Shane Booth and Kimberly, Colby Beck and Amanda, Trapper Beck and Jamie, Chance Beck and Taylor, Tina Gilreath and Billy, Shelia and Martin Kirkly, Paul Beverly and Krystal Starr; great-grandchildren, Caden, Ali, Justice, Lathen, Dayson, Bella, Brenly, Maddux, Montgomery, Ian, Gavin, Rhett, Ria Jo, Taylor, Jacob, Melanie, Crystal, Chase, Madison, Braylon, Aria; great great-grandchildren, Austin, Niki, Liam, Scarlett, Kylo, Ella and Emma; her siblings, Ann Shuyler and husband F.W., Wanda Merchant and husband Jack, Alvina Janow, Jimmy Fowler and wife Brenda, Danny Fowler, Ronnie Fowler, Donna McMahon Hamlet and Barbara McMahon Keller. Sisters in law Diane Fowler and Sandy Fowler, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
