Obituary

Alta Rilliadean (Wilson) Goldston, born June 7, 1942, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Leonard and Laura Gertrude (Mayfield) Wilson, completed her earthly journey in Leedey, Oklahoma, on March 27, 2025, at the age of 82.

Alta grew up in Cherokee County in Eastern Oklahoma, where she attended school in Hulbert and Norwood. She continued her education at Northeastern College in Tahlequah, earning her teaching degree. Over her 33-year career, she shared her passion for education with students at Muskogee Junior High, Clinton, Cheyenne, Strother, Hardesty, Ryan, and Waurika, Oklahoma.

On January 11, 1980, Alta was united in marriage to Roy Goldston in Hulbert, Oklahoma. Their home was blessed with three sons—Charles, Richard, and Kevin—and a daughter, Keeley. After settling permanently in Leedey in 2007, Alta became an active member of the community and the Leedey Methodist Church.

Alta had a deep love for gardening, was an exceptional cook, and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Among her cherished creations was a christening gown made for her grandson, which was later worn by her great-granddaughter.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Alta touched many lives throughout her teaching career and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband, Roy of Leedey, Oklahoma; her children, Charles Goldston and wife Misti of Leedey, Richard Goldston and wife Nicole of Oklahoma City, Kevin Frame of Enid, and Keeley Goldston of Clinton; her grandchildren, Brandon, Grant, Christopher, Carter, Luke, Spencer, and Makayla; and her great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Beckett. She is also survived by her siblings, Mike Crossno, Pat Crossno, Phillip Crossno, Janine Goodwin, and LaQuita Stover; her brother-in-law, Bill Goldston, and his wife Ricarda; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Laura Wilson, and other beloved family members.

Alta's warmth, kindness, and dedication to family and education leave a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
