Alvin Loyd Magee, fifth child born to George Joseph and Rosa Leota (Redinger) Magee, was born on August 29, 1936 at the family farm near the Cestos community in Dewey county. He graduated as a Seiling Wildcat in 1954. He worked through high school as a butcher at Mendenhall's store, and later went to work in the oil fields. He worked for Trigg Drilling Company for 21 years. After the company closed, he attended High Plains Technology Center in Woodward where he was later employed until he retired at age 72.
Alvin was united in marriage with Ella Bea Shuck in 1956. They were married in the Methodist Church parsonage by Rev. Noble. They made their first home in Seiling, later moving to Chester where they raised their daughter Deanette who attended Chester's one room schoolhouse. Later, they moved back to Seiling where Alvin continued to make his home.
Alvin was preceded in death by his daughter Deanette Lynn "Deannie" (Magee) Cheney and his wife Ella Bea, his brother Jay Dean "Jake" Magee, his sister Norma "Lee" Hinshaw, and his parents. He is survived by his granddaughter Dana "Magee" Dodson, her husband Nick, their children, Jakob, Joy and Jubilee all of Mannford, OK. He is also survived by his sisters Verlene Trim of Thayer, KS, Merlene Ogden of Woodward, OK, and Jan Spatz and husband Ron of Yukon, OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Brumfield Cemetery with Redinger Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
