Obituary

Arleta Pearl (Pummel) Watson was born January 18, 1941 and completed her earthly journey on October 3, 2023 in Vici, OK. at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 16 days.  She was the first of seven children born to Clyde Wayne "Shorty" Pummel and Evelyn Virginia (Payne) Pummel.  Her early years were spent on Turkey Creek southeast of Harmon, OK. before her family moved to Vici. In the mid 1940's they relocated to a farm south of Woodward where Arleta was active in the Bible Baptist Church  and  completed her school years in the Woodward Public School system graduating with the class of 1958.  She was united in marriage to Ray Eugene Watson and became a homemaker on April 22, 1960 in Woodward, OK.  They established their first home in Woodward before moving to Sharon, OK. , two children, Danny and Dana blessed their home.  In the 1970's the family moved to Laverne, OK. and later to Perryton, TX. before returning to Sharon, OK.  For many years Arleta and Ray enjoyed the Friday night pitch games at their home and at the homes of Arleta's siblings.  Following the loss of Ray, Arleta moved to Vici where she enjoyed decorating her front porch with plants and occasional trips to a Casino.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Shorty and Evelyn Pummel, her husband Ray Watson. Four of her siblings, Marilyn Ball and her husband John, Veetrice Campbell, Adeline Eaves and Eldon Pummel and other loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter Dana Blocker of Woodward, OK., her son Danny Watson and his wife Sherri of Laverne, OK., her grandchildren Shane Blocker and his wife Kendra of Ada, OK., Josh Blocker and his wife Brittney of Laverne, OK., Allison Watson of Weatherford, OK. and Collin Watson and his wife Kalie of Woodward, OK.  and three great grandchildren.  Her sister Waynona Covalt and her husband Delbert of Woodward, OK., her brother Gary Pummel and his wife Arleta of Woodward, OK.  Brothers in law, Wayne Campbell of Woodward, OK. and Larry Eaves of Louisiana, sister-in-law Karla Pummel of Woodward, OK., numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
