Barbara Walker Griffitts was born on January 29, 1948 in Clinton,
Oklahoma. Her parents were Robert "Bob" and Bonnie Walker. She passed from this life on August 20, 2010 at the age of 62. The family lived on a ranch in the Aledo/Rhea community near Leedey, OK that is still family-owned and operated.

She attended Leedey Public School and graduated in l966. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated from Averett College in Danville, Virginia in 1999 with a degree in Business Administration.

Barbara and her parents were members of Rhea Baptist Church while she was growing up. When she was ten years of age, she attended church camp at Falls Creek, Oklahoma where she made a profession of faith and was
later baptized at First Baptist Church of Leedey, OK. Barbara married Curtis Snider and they welcomed a beautiful daughter, Cyndy, in November 1969.

In December of 2001 Barbara married Keith Griffitts and moved to Plano, Texas where they made their home. They were active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church. Barbara loved her friends in the Fellowship Sunday School Class and was active in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) where she recently completed a seven year study of the Bible. She loved to minister to others though the Care Group in the Sunday School
Class and other activities at the Church and in the community. Barbara had a special heart for people with disabilities and had served on several boards of special advocacy Groups and was a past board member of ARC of
Dallas.

Barbara enjoyed attending gospel concerts, playing the piano, and
singing hymns. She was a member of a book club and enjoyed reading new books and just being with friends. She liked to travel. Keith, Barbara, and Cyndy took several trips in their motor home which were happy times for all. They enjoyed entertaining friends at Prestonwood Country Club and The Dallas Petroleum Club where they were members.

Barbara was preceded in death by infant sister, Donna Jean, and
father, Robert "Bob" Walker. She is survived by her husband,
Keith Griffitts of Plano, Texas, daughter Cyndy Snider of Tyler, Texas; her mother, Bonnie Walker of Plano; her aunts, Leona Woodman of Cherokee,Oklahoma; Dollie Wilson of Leedey; Loretta Walker of Clinton, Oklahoma;
Vinita Walker and Virginia "Ginger" Parr both of Oklahoma City, and a host of family and friends.

Barbara will truly be missed by all!
