Barbara Jean Young, 68, of Fort Supply, Oklahoma, passed away on March 26, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 11, 1955, in Waynoka, Oklahoma, to the late Joe and Beatrice Valencia.

Barbara spent her formative years in Waynoka, attending grade school and graduating from Waynoka High School with the Class of 1973. She embarked on a journey of love and companionship when she married Ray Young, and together they built a life in Fort Supply, Oklahoma. Through her marriage, Barbara gained bonus children, Tosha and Duston, whom she loved and cherished dearly.

For 33 years, Barbara dedicated her professional life to the Western State Hospital, where she held various roles, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and the community she served.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Barbara found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep affection for birds and cherished her time caring for chickens. However, her greatest source of happiness came from her family. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She found fulfillment in spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she adored dearly.

Barbara was a woman of faith and was a member of the Waynoka Catholic Church in her youth. As an adult, she found spiritual solace as a member of the Roadway Church of Fort Supply.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Joe Valencia, her grandparents, her granddaughter, Tiffany Chrisman, her brother-in-law, Gary Young, and numerous aunts. Although she has left this world, Barbara's memory will be forever cherished by her surviving loved ones, including her husband, Ray Young, her mother, Bea Valencia, her children, Tosha Chrisman and Dustin Young, her grandson, Dylan Chrisman, sisters, Connie Lyon, Anita and Guy Urbanoski, brothers, Randy and Jan Valencia and Steven and Janet Valencia, her mother-in-law, Marjorie Young, her sister-in-laws, Diana Lee and Robert, and Phyllis Price and Melvin, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barbara's warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before her.
