Obituary

Betty Jim Marler, 86 year old Oklahoma City resident, died June 1, 2012 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Betty was born October 3, 1925 to Edgar and Edith Gaskill Moore at Bells, Texas. Betty lived in Denison, Texas and Borger, Texas and graduated from Borger High School.

On September 18, 1948 Betty married F.C. Marler in Borger, Texas. This union was blessed with two children, Rhonda and Bradley. The family lived in Borger, Texas and Haysville, Kansas before settling in Colorado Springs Colorado for thirty-five years. Betty worked in movie theaters and loved being a homemaker. Her special interest was caring for her family.

Betty was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City and the Builders Sunday school class.

Betty was preceded in death by husband F.C. Marler, parents Edgar and Edith Moore, both children Rhonda and Bradley, sister, Mary Margaret Beckham and in-laws Buren and Avis Marler.

She is survived by brothers J.F. Moore of Kennewick, WA and Gary Moore of Desert Hot Springs, CA; sisters Virgie Case of Wichita, KS and Ann Knox of Oklahoma City, OK; granddaughter Teresa Carr and husband Derryk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and great-granddaughter Amber Carr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five nieces, four nephews, other family and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics, care of Shaw Funeral Home.
