Betty Sue Murphy, 81 year old resident of Elk City, OK, passed on February 22, 2023.  Betty was born March 3, 1941 to Allen Ray and Beatrice (Cates) Dean in Hammon, OK.  She grew up in Leedey and graduated from Leedey High School.  In 1965, she married Donald Linthicum in Oklahoma City in 1965. This union had two sons Richard and Clarence.  Betty lived in Oklahoma City where she worked as a 911 dispatcher for the Oklahoma City Police Department.  She loved her career as a 911 dispatcher and worked there until her retirement.  Betty moved to Elk City and was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church.  She enjoyed her church family and attended service regularly.  In her youth, she enjoyed riding horses and playing basketball.  She also enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball, doing crosswords, and watching shows about animals.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Allen and Beatrice Dean and one son Clarence Linthicum.  She is survived by her son Richard Linthicum and wife Tarina; several grandchildren, extended family and a host of friends.
