Betty Cecille (Lingg) Plymesser was born on July 12, 1929 in Dacoma, Oklahoma to Wayne Harold and Dorothy Marie (Hiatt) Lingg. As Betty grew up, she attended elementary school at Dacoma, and then Quinlan, Oklahoma. Betty's high school years were spent attending Alva High School and then Capron High School. She attended two years of college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, attaining an Associate Degree in Business. It was on July 2, 1949 that Betty married Cyrus Leo Plymesser, Jr. at the Quinlan United Methodist Church. To this marriage were born four children, daughters Beth and Bonnie, and sons Tripp and Wayne.

Betty worked at Buckles Department Store for several years, but she is most remembered for working as the Ellis County Clerk for many years. Betty enjoyed sewing and needlepoint, as well as playing cards and dominoes with friends. She would be at the 4 o'clock Happy Hour at Scotty's every day without fail with her friends. Betty was very social, even in the nursing home, though she was upset because no one would play dominoes with her. Betty was a member of United Methodist Church, and the Order of the Eastern Stars, Queen Esther Chapter. She was also a member of the Pink Ladies at the Shattuck Hospital as well as the Senior Citizens Center in Arnett.

Betty passed from this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in Oklahoma City at the age of 91.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Plymesser; parents, Wayne and Dorothy Lingg; brother, Warren Lingg; granddaughter and husband, Kerri and Brian Flugge; great-granddaughter Breanne Flugge; sister-in-law Donna Lingg; and many close friends.

Betty is survived by her daughter Beth Beam and husband Larry of Bogue, Kansas; daughter Bonnie Strickland and husband Jerry of McAlester, Oklahoma; son Tripp Plymesser and wife Jackie of Arnett, Oklahoma; son Wayne Plymesser and wife Melanie of Thompson Station, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; other family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Arnett, with interment to follow at DeBolt Cemetery. Visitation will be available at Shaw Funeral Home of Arnett on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
