Obituary
Beulah Berniece Wells was born April 5, 1944 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Erskin Everett "Pat" and Mildred Irene (Stow) Stevens. She passed from this life March 23, 2011 at her home in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Berniece grew up and attended school in Vici, Oklahoma and Arnett, Oklahoma. She graduated from Arnett High School with the Class of 1962. After high school, Berniece attended Draughons Business School and Oklahoma City University.
Berniece was united in marriage to Robert Ray Wells on July 29, 1966 in Arnett, Oklahoma. Two daughters were born to this union, Erin and Cyndy. The family lived in Oklahoma City until 1985 when they moved to Edmond, Oklahoma.
Berniece worked in data entry/processing. She was employed for many years at Southwestern Bell, TG&Y, C.R. Anthony, and Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy stores. She was a Past Bethel Guardian, Bethel #2, Oklahoma City, International Order of Job's Daughters. She spent many years working with the girls of her Bethel and around the state. To all of her daughters' friends, she was "Mom", and her house always had extra kids. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword puzzles and gardening. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Erskin "Pat" Stevens; mother, Mildred Shelton and step-father, Floyd Shelton.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Bob Wells of the home in Edmond, Oklahoma; daughters, Erin Glasson and husband Kinney and Cyndy Canan and husband Robert all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sisters, Joyce Carey and husband Wayne of Edmond, Oklahoma and Wanda Brown and husband John of Apache, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Robert Maxwell and Ettalyn Diana Canan and Caetlyn Jae Glasson; cousin, Beverly Barry and husband Gene of Vici, Oklahoma, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and many dear friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 beginning at 2:00p.m. at the India Shrine Center, 3601 N.W. 36th, Oklahoma City.
