It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Billy Don Shelby, who left us on April 22, 2024, in Vici, Oklahoma. He was 43 years old. Billy was born on December 20, 1980, in Oklahoma City to Eric Shelby and Gina Fothergill. He grew up in Vici, where he graduated from Vici High School. Billy was a devoted father, a hardworking oil driller, and a loyal friend to many.

Billy's life revolved around his family, particularly his two beloved daughters, Faith and Lexus Shelby. He was a doting father who cherished every moment with his girls. He was a man of many interests—whether he was tinkering with his latest project, collecting unique items, riding his motorcycle, or spending time at the lake, he did everything with passion and enthusiasm.

Though he did not attend college in the traditional sense, Billy often joked that he received his education at the "oil patch." As a seasoned oil driller, he was known for his work ethic and his ability to tackle any challenge that came his way. He made homes in Weatherford, Enid, and finally Vici, where he established deep connections within each community. Billy was baptized at the age of 38, a moment that held great significance for him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eric Shelby; his mom and dad, Gina and Bud Nance; his grandma, Pat Shelby; and his daughter, Hope Shelby.

Billy is survived by his daughters, Faith and Lexus Shelby; his brothers, Chad Heffington, John Nance, and Junior Nance; his cousin, Angie Fothergill; and his uncles, John, Mike, and Steve Fothergill. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Billy's memory. The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Services are in the care of Shaw Funeral Home of Vici.
