Birdie Mayme (Bower) McDannald was born December 26, 1913, and passed from this life on December 20, 2009 just a few days short of her 96th birthday. Birdie was born to Michael Robert and Edna Leora (Tolle) Bower in rural Dewey County, near Seiling, Oklahoma.
Birdie's school years were spent in several of the local grade schools in the Seiling area. She attended through the eighth grade.
On June 23, 1936 Birdie became the bride of Burrel Everett McDannald. They made their home in the Camargo area. They were blessed with the birth of their two children, Wayne Eugene and Arletta Correne.
Birdie made her home in Oklahoma for a time but also lived in Idaho, Washington, and Orgeon where she was living at the time of her passing.
Birdie was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her children and providing a loving home for her family. She liked to spend time in her garden and always had some chickens to care for. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Birdie faithfully attended the Church of the Nazarene while living in Idaho.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Burrel McDannald; parents, Michael and Edna Bower; by sisters, Violet Coulson, Sina Reese, and Ruby Wray; by brother, William (Bill) Bower; and grandson, Roy McDannald.
Family members remaining to cherish her memory are son, Wayne McDannald and wife Joan of Gage, OK; daughter, Correne Marble and husband David of Drain, OR; brother, Robert Bower and wife Louise of Midwest City, OK; grandchildren, Rodd McDannald and wife Donna of Reno, NV, Robert McDannald and wife Debbie of Walker, MO, David D. Marble of Drain, OR, Angela Worley and husband Wesley of San Diego, CA and Kimberly Bellew and husband Richard of Winston, OR; by eleven great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
