55 year old Woodward resident, Bobby Carrol Matthews, passed from this life September 26, 2012 as a result of a vehicle accident near Elmwood, Oklahoma. Bobby was born February 7, 1957 at Perryton, Texas to T. F. and Norma Morgan Matthews.
Bobby attended all of his schooling years in Perryton, graduating with the class of 1975. He attended the First Baptist Church and was baptized at the age of 17.
On May 10, 1985, Bobby and Barbara Ann Miller were united in marriage in Barrie, Ontario Canada. They lived in Woodward, OK until 1989. They then moved to Barrie, Ontario, living there until January of 1996. At that time, they returned to Woodward, and Bobby worked for Hodge's Trucking as a crane operator. He was currently employed by Lane's Trucking.
Bobby enjoyed his pug dogs and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. You could always find him in front of the TV in his underwear on Sunday afternoons watching his team play. He loved his kids and grandkids and enjoyed watching them at their school events. His children attest that he was a wonderful, loving, and supportive father.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father, T.F. Matthews, son Timothy Matthews, brother Billy Wayne Matthews, grandmother Fannie Morgan, grandparents-in-law Ted and Margaret Bebbington, uncles Lyndel Morgan and Alfred Morgan, and great-nephews Richard and Robbie Matthews.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Woodward, OK; mother Norma Matthews of Woodward, OK; sister Peggy Becktel and husband Richard of Florida; daughters Tabetha Worsencroft and husband Brad, of Vici, OK, Bobbie Matthews of Woodward, OK, and Brittany Bixler and husband Sean of Woodward, OK; son David Matthews and fiancé Katie Bruster; grandsons Tristan Devon and Timothy Worsencroft of Vici, OK; granddaughter Tatum Devon of Vici, OK; in-laws Dave and Mavis Miller of Canada; brother-in-law Dave Miller of Canada; nieces Paige Vahlsing of Florence, CO, Paige Miller of Canada; nephews Aiden Miller of Canada, Matt Matthews and wife Lori of Camp Verde, AZ, James Becktel, Jason Becktel and wife Crystal, and Ricky Becktel and wife Michelle; numerous other family members and friends.
