Boden James "Bo" Workman, a vibrant and accomplished young man, journeyed from this world on March 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering enthusiasm. Born on July 9, 2004, in Oklahoma City to his loving parents Jeffrey Bryant Workman and Melissa Rae Workman, Bo's life was a testament to the power of passion and purpose.
Bo's first few months were spent in Tuttle before his family relocated to Arnett, Oklahoma. He embarked on his educational journey at Fargo Public Schools before continuing his studies at Arnett Public Schools, where he demonstrated exceptional academic prowess and a thirst for knowledge. Bo's educational odyssey led him to Tuttle for a brief period before settling in Taloga, Oklahoma, where he graduated as the Valedictorian of his class in 2023, a testament to his intellectual brilliance and dedication to excellence.
Throughout his high school years, Bo immersed himself in a multitude of activities, showcasing his versatility and leadership abilities. He excelled in sports, including football, basketball, powerlifting, and eSports, leaving an indelible mark on each arena with his tenacity and skill. Bo's academic achievements were equally remarkable, as he consistently distinguished himself as an honor student and a member of prestigious academic societies.
Beyond the confines of academia and athletics, Bo's compassionate spirit shone brightly through his involvement in various community service initiatives, from assisting youth and seniors to promoting farm safety and childhood education. His selflessness and commitment to others left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bo's faith was an integral part of his life, and he found solace and strength in his spiritual journey. His baptism at the age of 17 marked a significant milestone in his relationship with his faith community, where he was cherished and supported.
In his leisure time, Bo found joy in PC gaming, spending time with loved ones, and nurturing his curiosity through exploration and creation. His zest for life was infectious, and his presence illuminated every room he entered.
Bo leaves behind a constellation of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to call him friend, family, or classmate. While he may have departed this world far too soon, his spirit will forever remain a beacon of light in the hearts of all who knew him.
Bo is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, John Salisbury; great-grandmother, Barbara Sue Guy; grandfather, James Bryant Workman; and grandfather, Steven Wayne Salisbury. He is survived by his mother, Melissa Rae Salisbury; father, Jeffrey Bryant Workman; step-mom, Katie Nikol Workman; siblings, Briar Scott Workman, Aubry Rae Workman, Aftyn Baptiste, and Avayah Baptiste; grandmother, Lawanna Workman; great-grandmother, Dixie Salisbury; great-grandfather, Jon Guy; grandparents Kem and Dani Mann; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
As we mourn Bo's passing, let us also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. May his spirit continue to guide us, and may his memory be a blessing forevermore.
Funeral services for Bo are to be conducted Monday, March 18, at 10:00 AM at the Bethany Brethren in Christ Church in Thomas, Oklahoma. Burial following at 1:00 PM at DeBolt Cemetery in Arnett, Oklahoma. Services are in the care of Shaw Funeral Home.
