Bonnie Lee (Stout) McKee was born October 21, 1925 near Harmon, OK. She passed from this life on April 16, 2012 at the age of 86. Bonnie was raised near Arnett, OK. After graduating from Arnett High School, Bonnie worked at the Ellis County Courthouse for a time before enrolling in Northwestern State College. After earning her teaching certificate she returned home to teach at a rural school near Shattuck, OK. In July of 1948, Bonnie was united in marriage to John McKee. They made their home on a farm west of Higgins, TX. After the birth of their two children, son John and daughter Linda, Bonnie and John moved to a farm south of Lipscomb, TX. They enjoyed many happy years there together, raising their children.

Following the illness of her husband Bonnie moved from the farm to Arnett, Oklahoma. She was the Arnett school librarian and a substitute teacher for many years. Bonnie later moved to Weatherford, OK to continue her education and earned a Masters degree in Library Science. She then moved to Altus, OK to become the Director of Learning Resources at Western Oklahoma State College. While working in Altus, Bonnie furthered her education through the University of Oklahoma. While working at the college, Bonnie was active in all of the organizations and was also the Cheerleader sponsor. She retired from Western Oklahoma State College in 1989.

After her retirement, Bonnie moved to Lawton, OK to be closer to her grandchildren. She loved attending all of her grandson's school and sporting activities. She was a regular participant in her Yoga class and she loved working in her flower garden. Bonnie was also an avid reader and a member of the WDA Book club.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, John McKee, parents R.E. and Florence Stout, her brother Bob Stout and an infant daughter Francis Charlene McKee. Bonnie is survived by her son John Lee McKee of Lonewolf, OK, daughter Linda Hall and husband Gerald of Lawton, OK; two grandsons, Jason Hall and wife Rachell, and Tyler Hall, one great granddaughter, Claire Hall. Bonnie will be missed by her family and friends. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
