Private graveside services will be held at Gage Memorial Cemetery

Bruce Lee Barnes, 60-year-old resident of Shattuck, OK, passed from this life on October 4, 2021 at his home in Shattuck. Bruce was born on June 10, 1961 to Virlyn and Hazel Barnes in Woodward, OK. Bruce grew up in Shattuck where he attended school, graduating with the Shattuck Class of 1979. Following graduation, Bruce attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK until 1981. Bruce was blessed with two children, son Trenton and daughter Holly.

Bruce worked in lumberyards in various capacities up to assistant manager while he lived in Gage, OK; Guymon, OK; Liberal, KS; and Ft. Collins, CO. Towards the end of his working days, Bruce moved to Casper, WY where he worked at Bed, Bath and Beyond, becoming a manager before his retirement. Bruce retired back to Shattuck where he enjoyed woodworking, photography, gardening, and video games. His favorite pastimes were fishing, camping, and teasing people.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Virlyn and Hazel Barnes.

Bruce is survived by his children, son Trenton Barnes, and daughter Holly Barnes; sister Karen McLain of Shattuck; brother Rodney Barnes and wife Debbie of Shattuck; brother Arlen Barnes and Carol of Gage; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones.
