Obituary

Bryon Paul Moss, son of Donald and Evelyn (White) Moss was born on December 4, 1972, at Mutual Oklahoma and passed from this life on August 28, 2007 at the age of 34 years, 8 months, and 24 days after a brief illness. Bryon was the sixth child in a family of 8 being a big brother to the twins born after him. Bryon, Tim and Todd, under big sister Vickie's supervision, spent many happy hours on the family farm, leaving no stone unturned. There were many picnics and trips to the creek, which Dad and Mom was unaware of.

Bryon started kindergarten at Sharon Public School and graduated from Sharon Mutual High School in 1991. While in school, Bryon was active in the 4-H program, holding several offices during the years, being crowned 4-H king, and being elected to the Woodward County 4-H hall of fame in 1990. Bryon was on the Sharon-Mutual basketball, baseball and football teams. While in FFA, he showed cattle, pigs and horses. This was a treasured time spent with Dad. Bryon enjoyed his part he held in the Senior class play. Bryon attended college at Southwestern at Weatherford, Oklahoma for 2 years. He then attended school at Burns Flat finishing with a certificate in meat cutting. Bryon worked in Muskogee, Enid, Woodward, and Vici as a meat cutter.

Because of Bryon's love of diesel engines and big trucks he then attended and completed Truck Driving School at Southwest Technical School in Liberal, Kansas. Bryon has been driving the big rigs for 8 years. He was employed by Sooner Trucking of Sweetwater, Oklahoma, until failing health required him to return home.

Bryon was raised around the brethren all his life. On April 14, 1999, Bryon gave his hand to Bro. Allen Moss and was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Bryon let the brethren use his land for the Church hayrides and picnics. The young kids played many volleyball games there.

Bryon had a great love for the farming life. He looked forward to harvest every year. He enjoyed the time he spent with his dad, Todd and Tim in the wheat fields. The best time of harvest was when, Danny and his boys, Dale and his boys and their machines joined them and the race was on, especially between Bryon and his nephews to see who could cut the most wheat the fastest. Bryon had a great love for the 95 and 105 John Deere combines. If he drove by and found one, it usually ended up at his place. He loved to attend farm sales, and always brought something home with him.

As the years went by, it was nephews and nieces that kept him entertained. There were camping trips, boating trips, and even skiing trips. Bryon snowboarded at Purgatory Ski Slope in Colorado, where he had the biggest wipe out ever. Bryon, with the help of his nephews and brothers, was usually always willing to try something once.

One of Bryon's greatest experiences was hunting season. He spent many hours looking for the biggest buck, and in the Moss family, that was a challenge. On Thanksgiving and Christmas he looked forward to the family trap shoots.

After Donald passed way, Bryon kept in touch with his mother, either by calling or dropping by usually everyday. He loved to bring her cottage cheese, and bananas. If the family got together, and Bryon couldn't be there, he always called and talked to any of the family that had time to talk.

Bryon never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. He had 2 special friends, Aaron Fenton and Timmy McDonald who meant a lot to him He spent many hours visiting with coworkers. If Bryon couldn't talk to you in person, he would call you on his cell phone and talk for hours. When Bryon's health began to fail, he returned to Vici and his family. A few weeks ago, Bryon went to his sister Dana's house to let her care for him. As his illness progressed his brothers, nephews, and brethren were there to help. Bryon left this world, with his family and loved ones around him.
