Bucky Lynn Patterson, son of Richard O. Patterson and Belva Forrest Patterson Sutton was born at Woodward, Oklahoma, November 29, 1963. He was baptized as a teenager and met his savior on July 14, 2011 at the age of 47 years, 7 months and 15 days.
Bucky's early childhood was spent roaming Turkey Creek at the home of his grandparents, Buck and Naomi Patterson, generally accompanied by his cousin Leslie, a pony named Rattler and at least one dog.
Bucky began school at Arnett, Oklahoma, an eager first grader, and attended school at Higgins, Texas, Woodward, Oklahoma and Mutual, Oklahoma. He was a member of the 1981 basketball team that traveled to the State Tournament. He graduated from Sharon-Mutual High School with the Class of 1982. Mischief ruled.
Bucky furthered his education by attending Northern Oklahoma College on a basketball scholarship, at Tonkawa, Oklahoma. He later graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford, Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education.
On January 1, 1996, Bucky was united in marriage to Dawn and they established a home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Bucky made many friends as a member of the Pipeliners Union 798 and wherever his job took him. He always enjoyed seeing the local sights, visiting state parks, historic memorials or a professional sporting event and was quick to share these adventures with his family with pictures and a detailed accounting. He enjoyed music and dancing, playing golf and was an avid sports fan from horse races to football (go Sooners)!
Bucky was always ready to visit his family and the holidays were very special to him. He loved the food, the fun and the storytelling.
Bucky was just Bucky. He was full of mischief yet sentimental, loved his family and was a loyal friend.
Bucky was preceded in death by his Dad, Richard, his grandparents, Buck and Naomi Patterson and Bill and Rosetta Forrest, and a niece, Krista Dittmeyer.
Loved ones remaining to cherish his memory are his Mom, Belva and Step-Dad Bud Sutton; siblings, Jeannie Slape, LaNell Shackley, Melissa Folks, Will Patterson, Terry Lee and Dillon Patterson; special aunt, Annie Rohrer, loving aunts, uncles, treasured cousins and countless friends.
