Obituary

Buddy Larry Plummer, son of Larry and Beulah Plummer was born near Cedardale, Oklahoma on July 12, 1926 and passed from this life on August 27, 2008, he was eighty-two.

Buddy attended Elm Grove country school and lived all his life in the northwest area, which included Mutual, Vici, Seiling, and Chester. At 17 years of age Buddy joined the Army and fought in World War II. He traveled overseas twice, once to the Philippines and once to Japan. Buddy was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.

Buddy married Velma Carol White on December 4, 1948 at Canadian, Texas. Buddy and Carol were parents of five children; three sons, Denver, Jackie, and Troy Dean, two daughters, Beulah and Brenda. Buddy was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.

Buddy and Carol lived east of Mutual where Buddy worked on a ranch and farm. Later they moved east of Vici where they armed, milked cows, and Buddy hauled cream to Enid for Gold Spot. He later worked at Farmers Co-op where he started driving a propane truck. In 1963 they sold their home in Vici and moved to Seiling and Buddy drove a truck for Western Propane for 20 years. He served on the Vici School Board of Education and coached Little League baseball and softball. In Seiling Buddy was active in American Legion work and served as a Commander. Later, he worked for the State of Oklahoma as an L.P. Gas Inspector until he retired in 1987. Buddy was a charter member of the Seiling Round-Up Club and served as 2000 Rodeo Parade Marshall. He loved horses, especially his horse "Red". Buddy loved to fish and quail hunt with his children, grandchildren, and friends.

Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; parents, Larry and Beulah Plummer; son, Troy Dean; grandson, Shannon Seidel; brothers and their spouses Bill and Grace Plummer, Jack and Jewel Plummer, Jerry and Roberta Plummer; sisters and their spouses, Avis and Andy Anderson, Mary and Floyd Louthan, Josephine and Jack Wade, Cricket and Raymond Lieurance.

Those left behind to mourn his passing are his sons, Denver Plummer and wife Loretta of Seiling, Jackie Plummer and wife Cindy of Woodward; daughters, Beulah Seidel and husband Bruce of Vici, Brenda Evans and husband Johnny of Vici; ten grandchildren, Starlyn Oathout and husband Tony of Oklahoma City, Dee Plummer and wife Alyssa of Oklahoma City, Drew Plummer and wife Abbi of Rollin, MO, Travis Plummer and wife Jeanna of Edmond, Jaymee Plummer of Tulsa, Michael Shuman of Woodward, Jory Weir and husband Bart of Woodward, CJ Seidel of Vici, Buddy Evans of Stillwater, and Jake Evans of Vici; eight great-grandchildren, Morgan Oathout, Hudson Plummer, Aubri Plummer, Drake Plummer, Aiden Plummer, Emilyn Plummer, Regan Plummer and Whitney Shuman; sister, Dorothy Ball and husband Alfred of Fairview; sisters-in-law, Vea Dick and husband Seward of Colonial Heights, VA, Evelyn Moss of Vici; brother-in-law, Roy White and wife Karen of Mutual; life long friends, Donald and Wilma Gordon family and children, Ivan, Debbie, and Nancy; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
