IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carole Sue
(Jones) Turner
October 12, 1942 – December 16, 2024
Carole Sue (Jones) Turner, loving wife, Mother, grandmother, great Grammie, sister, Aunt, and friend went home to spend eternity with her blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 16, 2024.
Carole was born on October 12, 1942, at Shattuck, Ok., the youngest child of Edward William and Inez Mary (Floyd) Jones. She grew up in Harmon, Ok. She attended school in Arnett, Ok. graduating from the class of 1960. Carole attended the Church of the Nazarene in Harmon and had many fond memories of the church family there.
On May 31,1960 Carole was united in marriage to Gary Manley Turner at the Church of the Nazarene in Vici, Ok. They made their home in Vici. They were blessed when two daughters came into their life, Robin Lynette and Shelley Dawn.
When her daughters were young, she was able to be a stay-at-home mom. She stayed involved in their school activities, band, choir, 4-H club, and sports.
Carole loved to sew and made most of her and her daughter's clothes. She even made some tailored suits for Gary.
Carole was involved in community projects. She was a member of the Young Modern Extension Club where she served as president for a few years. In June 1973 she was nominated by the club members to represent the club for Homemaker of the Year in Dewey County. She was chosen as Dewey County Homemaker of the Year.
In the late 1970's Carole went to work at the Vici Nursing Home as a nurse's aide. She worked there until 1989 when she went to work at the Woodward Hospital and received training to become a certified nurse's aide. She loved taking care of people. Her main position at the hospital was taking care of newborn babies. She loved doing that. Carole retired in 2001.
Carole became a Christian in her teen years and rededicated her life to Christ in the early years of her marriage. She was a member of the Vici Church of the Nazarene. She served in many areas of the churchwork; Sunday school teacher, VBS worker, youth group leader, song leader, church board, and nursery worker. She loved doing things for the Lord. She was voted Mother of the Year in 2002.
Carole loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was so very proud of them. She loves seeing their activities. There were special foods she fixed that they liked to have when they came to visit; homemade noodles, tortilla roll-ups, cinnamon jello, fruity pebbles bars and pasta salad just to name a few.
Carole loved working in the yard, sewing, crocheting, and scrapbooking, and spending time with her family.
When the day came when great grandchildren entered her life, she was so happy. They all lived close enough that she got to spend a lot of time with them. She loved having them come visit. She was Grammie to her great grands. One day two of her great grandsons were at her house and they asked her if she'd play stink ball with them. That became a fun game with all her great grands. If you want to know how to play stink ball just ask Isaac and Brady Miller.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband Gary, her parents Edward and Inez Jones, sisters Izetta Collar, Crystal Fielder, Nona Phillips, brother Wendell Jones, sister-in-law Jackie Jones, brothers-in-law Loyd Collar, and Earl Fielder and granddaughter Erin (Bryant) Suchy.
