Carolyn Jane Goodwin was born on November 11, 1946 in Cordell, Oklahoma to father Everett L. Carson and mother Mary Loretta Crain-Ogden. Carolyn was also blessed with a step-father, Irven A. Ogden. She grew up and attended high school in Enid, Oklahoma. On August 20, 1965, Carolyn was united in marriage to the love of her life Larry H. Goodwin, Sr at St. Luke's Methodist Church in Enid. To this union was born four children, sons Larry Jr. and James, and daughters Kristi and Jana, and an adopted son Ty.
Carolyn and family resided in Enid until 1976, when they moved to Woodward, Oklahoma. In 1978, they moved into the home they had built in Sharon, Oklahoma. Carolyn was a homemaker, attending to the needs of her children and husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, painting, and baking. Carolyn was baptized into the First Baptist Church in West Plain, Missouri in 1957. She would continue to attend the Baptist Church throughout her life, and regularly attended the Woodward congregation. She partook in the choir and cooking for the camps, and she enjoyed teaching children about their Lord and savior.
On August 18, 2021, Carolyn passed from this life at Woodward. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Goodwin, Sr., father, Everett Carson, Jr., mother, Loretta Ogden, step-father, Irven Ogden, daughter, Kristi Sherrill, brother Steve Carson, in-laws Clyde and Rose Goodwin, brother-in-law, Leon Goodwin, and brother-in-law, Ray Goodwin and wife Marvellee.
Carolyn is survived by son Larry Goodwin and wife Marti of Blanchard, Oklahoma, son James Goodwin of Sharon, Oklahoma, daughter Jana Goodwin and significant other Tyson Scott of Sharon, adopted son Ty Goodwin of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, granddaughter Kaylee McGraw of Woodward, grandchildren Hannah, Gabrella, and Ethan Belis of Sharon, sister-in-law Patsy Embree of Texas, brother Robert Carson and wife Regina of Shell Knob, Missouri, many nieces and nephews, and a host of loved ones and friends.
