Obituary

Clyde Wayne Terry, 72 year old Mooreland resident passed from this life on February 6, 2013 in Enid, Oklahoma. Clyde was born on March 22, 1940 in Erick, Oklahoma to Charlie Weldon and Inora (Ward) Terry.

On April 12, 1957 Clyde joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on April 11, 1963. During his time of service Clyde received the rank of E-3 and completed his GED. He served in Wyoming, Germany, France, England and Spain. Clyde was honored as Airman of the Year twice in his military career.

On March 3, 1962 Clyde married Genevia Gail Nixon in Pampa, TX. The couple was blessed with three children: Bryan, Steven, and Shelia. Clyde married Joe Ellen Brummett on August 4, 1972 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 40 wonderful years together. Clyde welcomed four more children to his life, Peggy, Dennis, Tully and Scott. After marriage Clyde lived in the Texas Panhandle, Leedey, Oklahoma, and Mooreland, Oklahoma.

Clyde worked as a butcher as well as in the oilfield, done scrap metal and sold produce. He loved to fish, work in his garden, and time with family. He was a member of the American Legion. During his teenage years, Clyde accepted Christ and was baptized. He attended both the Church of Christ and the Methodist Church.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Inora Terry, son Steven Terry, son Scott Terry, brother, Willy Dean Terry and sister, DeLois Broadbent. He is survived by wife Joe Terry of the home in Mooreland, OK; son Bryan Terry and wife Sandy of Amarillo, TX; daughters Shelia Bahr and husband George of Amarillo, TX and Peggy Chilcoat and husband Eddie of Leedey, OK; sons Dennis Heck and wife Gina of Leedey, OK and Tully Groom of Enid, OK; three brothers Rayford Terry and wife Marie of Edmond, OK, Eddie Terry and wife Jean of Shamrock, TX and Geoffrey Terry and wife Kim of Duncan, OK; sisters Marchaell Batton of Pampa, TX and Sally Bradford of Denver City, TX; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Mooreland, Oklahoma with interment following in Red Star Cemetery, Leedey, Oklahoma. Condolences may be made to the family at shawfuneralhome.net
