Obituary

Coleen Marie (McClung) Hosler, 78 year old resident of Woodward, OK., was called to her heavenly home on January 7, 2020.  She was born November 29, 1941 at Shattuck, OK., the eldest child of Robert William (Bob) and Ruth Marie (Richard) McClung.  Coleen grew up on the family farm southwest of Harmon, OK.  She was a member of the Harmon Church of the Nazarene and was baptized in a stock tank at the home of her parents.  Her formal education began in a one room school west of Harmon, OK. and she attended Arnett High School and later obtained her GED.

Coleen was united in marriage to Merle Arthur Hosler at the Harmon Church of the Nazarene on June 15, 1958.  They began married life on the family farm west of Slapout, OK.  Two daughters, Debra and LaDonna blessed their home.  Coleen continued her education by attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK. receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in education.  Her teaching career included Waynoka, OK., Lyndon, KS. and 15 years at Lewis, KS. She also served as a librarian in Fort Supply, OK. They also owned and operated a resort on Table Rock Lake in Kimberling City, MO.

Sunday dinners with her family and attending her grandkids activities were special to Coleen.  She also enjoyed drawing and painting, traveling, gardening and tending her flower gardens. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She also was a homemaker and an educator who touched many lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Ruth McClung.  Her memory is cherished by her husband, Merle and her daughters, Debra Bixler and LaDonna Neill and husband Lester all of Woodward, OK.  Seven grandchildren, Alicia Cole of Woodward, OK., Lindsay Fry and husband Adam of Edmond, OK., Caleb and Sean Bixler of Woodward, OK., Nathan Neill and wife Alicia of Woodward, OK., Jeryn Neill and wife Brenna of Stillwater, OK., and Braden Neill of Sharon, OK.  Nine great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Madison, Brennan, Kody, Kelton, Abbie, Ethen, Jesah and Ryker.  Her brother, Terry McClung and sister, Conita Shaw and husband Roger, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services are to be conducted on Saturday, January 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harmon Church of the Nazarene.
