Obituary

Daniel Homer Barron, 76-year-old resident of Taloga, OK, passed from this life on September 30, 2021.  Daniel was born May 27, 1945, to Gene Lavier and Alma Anna (Graumann) Barron in Hobart, OK.  He grew up on a farm near Lone Wolf, OK and graduated from Port High School in 1963.  After high school, he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU).  Daniel graduated from SWOSU in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science and later in 1975 with a Master of Education.

On August 6, 1966, Daniel married Ruth Ann Hamar at the Taloga Christian Church.  They were blessed with three daughters, Dawn, Deana, and Debbie.  Daniel was a teacher, and the family lived in many towns during his early teaching years.  In 1980, the family settled in Taloga, where Daniel taught and also farmed.  As a teacher, he earned several awards in his lifetime which included Masonic Teacher of Today and Seiling Teacher of the year.  Daniel loved teaching science, math, and history.

At an early age Daniel was baptized at the Lutheran Church.  He loved to watch the Sunday online services of the Taloga Christian Church and listened to gospel singers every evening.  Daniel was a member of the OEA and NEA during his teaching career and a member of the Lion's Club.  Daniel loved hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, and spending time with grandchildren.

Daniel was preceded in death by parents Gene and Alma Barron, parents-in-law Penn and Evelyn Hamar, sister Delores Alford, and brother Tommy Barron.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Barron; daughters Dawn Barron-Webber and husband Dan of Oklahoma City, OK, Deana Barron-Burritt and husband Rob of Parma, MI, and Debbie Blacklock and husband Randy of Jenks, OK; grandchildren Joe Webber and wife Jordan, Matt Webber, Andrew Webber, Daniel Webber, Jared Burritt, London Terrian, and Cassi Blacklock; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
