Obituary

Daniel Orie "Danny" Peaslee, age 71, passed peacefully from this life on November 5, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on February 5, 1954, in Lebanon, Oregon to Orie Peaslee and Sylvia Matney-Peaslee.

Danny grew up in Oregon and attended Scio Public Schools from 1959 to 1971. He later attended Redmond High School, graduating with the Class of 1972. That same year, on June 8, 1972, he married the love of his life, Betty Darlene, in Winnemucca, Nevada. Together they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and love, and were blessed with two daughters, Georgia Rose and Melissa Ann.

Over the years, the family made their home in several Oregon communities, including Bend, Scio, Stayton, and Beaverton. Danny worked as a master carpenter, a trade in which he took great pride. His steady hands and skillful craftsmanship can be found in countless homes and buildings, standing as a quiet testament to a lifetime of hard work and dedication.

Danny had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He enjoyed building model cars, cheering for his favorite sports teams, attending NHRA events and collecting autographs. A favorite memory of his was having the chance to meet Bill Walton center for the championship Portland Trail Blazer. Danny was also a proud member of the Moose Lodge in Stayton, where he made lasting friendships and enjoyed good fellowship.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Orrie Peaslee and Sylvia Wesley, and by his brother, Wesley Matney.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Betty Peaslee; daughters Georgia R. Peaslee and Melissa Peaslee; grandsons Elijah Golafale, Noah Golafale, and Jason Tackett; sister, Eloise Peaslee; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Danny will be remembered for his gift of gab, his kind heart, and the love he held so deeply for his family & friends. His legacy will live on in the hands he taught, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched.
