Obituary

Darlene Eloise DeWitt, 80 year old resident of Vici, OK, passed from this life September 22, 2017 in her home. Darlene was born December 1, 1936 to Carl Dudley and Ruth Emily (McAlary) Witherell in Meeker, CO. She lived in Bueana Park, CA and Vici, OK and attended schools in both cities.
On May 30, 1954 Darlene married Al DeWitt in Las Vegas, NV. To this union five children were born June Lea, David Allan, James Grant, Kari Lynn, and Deszmond Douglas. They made their home in California, Arkansas, Colorado, and finally Vici, OK.
Darlene was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on July 3, 1957 by Charlie Davis and attended church at the Vici General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. Darlene loved to collect Coca-Cola memorabilia. She also loved to go camping, fishing, and hunting. She loved spending time outdoors in her yard feeding birds, and squirrels. Darlene loved to spend time with her family and play canasta and was well known as the canasta queen and was very proud of that. She loved to take pictures and was notorious for making us hold a smile for a long time. She will always be remembered for her big heart and over flowing hospitality she showed to everyone. She didn't know the meaning of no thank you and you were always going to get food or a drink from her giving spirit.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ruth Witherell, two sons David Allan and James Grant.
She is survived by her husband of the home Al DeWitt; children June Lea Kittler of Vici, OK, Kari Lynn Lipham of Vici, OK and Deszmond Douglas DeDwitt of Loveland, CO; one brother Dee Allen Witherell of New Braumfields, TX; one sister Nyla Rivera of Woodward, OK; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; one aunt Peral McAlary of Vici, OK; and many nieces, nephews and a host of Brothern and friends of the family.
