One Day our God in Heaven sent a little portion of his Spirit into the world and Debbie Lynn Thomas was born on September the 8th, 1964, to Willard and Marjorie Thomas on the family farm west of Beaver, OK.
As a very small child she was known by her family and all others who knew her as a very special and loving child. At her tender age of 8 years old the Lord sent forth and received the spirit of her father Willard Thomas into his rest and she continued to be raised by her mother, with much help and influence from her sisters and brother where she was able to develop much of her loving character and cheerful disposition.
When it was time for God to draw her unto Himself, she gave complete trust of her life to the Lord in baptism at the age of 14 at the Colorado camp meetings into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, of which she was taught and believed all her life.
She attended school at Beaver and married Ricky Lee Dobbs of Hobbs, New Mexico on December 28th, 1981 in her senior year and then graduated as Salutatorian of her class in May of 1982. After graduation Rick and Debbie moved to Hobbs where they continued to live until September of this year when they moved to Oklahoma City to be near their children and her family.
To this happy and glorious union two loving children were born, Amy Lynn and Lee Everett who cherish every moment they had with her and will continue to carry with them and treasure the love so effortlessly shown to them by their mother.
God also received unto himself her mother Marjorie Thomas Turner December 26th 1994, her stepfather Manley Turner September 24th 1993 and her father in-law, Joye Dobbs August 19th 2009.
On November the 16th, 2009, The Lord sent forth and called Debbie to forever be with Him in her heavenly home. She will be remembered for her truly, loving, Christian heart of faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these was her love in which she always put others before herself.
This was continually manifested through her actions and deeds which were many, not the least of which were her many talents in the kitchen, baking homemade crescent and cinnamon rolls. Also, through her abilities as a seamstress, making clothes for her family and home schooling her children. All this was done, not through necessity, but as expressions of her enormous love for others.
She enjoyed sunny days, sitting out on the patio which was her place of solitude, reading her bible and playing with her little dog Heidi. Another of her greatest joys was being with all of her family, spending time playing games, singing, laughing, and enjoying one another.
Some of the Souls left to prepare to meet her in heaven are her husband Ricky, their children Amy and Lee, of Moore, OK. Mother-in-law Patti Dobbs of Hobbs, NM., One brother and his wife CW and Suzie Thomas of McLean, TX., Five sisters and their husbands , Ramona and James Porritt of Oklahoma City, Linda and Art Noll of Oklahoma City, Sharon and Mark Hodges of Oklahoma City, Doris and David Heidlebaugh of Vici, OK, Sonja and Bill Ferguson of Oklahoma City,.
Also four brother-in-laws and their wives, Kelly and Becky, Paul and Lynette, Danny and Cindy, Robert and RaJeana, all of Hobbs, NM. Along with a host of nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.
She was a very special person, who in deed lived the proverb of the virtuous woman, and will be greatly missed by all until we are received into Heaven to forever be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
