Delbert Wayne Noblitt, 82 year old Hemet, California resident passed away June 5, 2013 at his home. Delbert was born to Thelbert and Maudie Noblitt on November 25, 1930 in Hammon, Oklahoma. Delbert attended Hammon Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1949.
Delbert married Pauline Henderson on February 20, 1965 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The couple was blessed with four children: Jerry, Gary, Daniel and Diana. Delbert worked as a Journeyman Lineman and belonged to IBEW for 57 years. His occupation led his family all over the country. He and Pauline moved to Vici, Oklahoma in 1976 and began trucking. He hauled cattle, oilfield pipe, produce and refrigerated goods. He retired in 2000.
Delbert loved being outdoors, whether it was playing golf with friends, working in the garden or enjoying sporting events with his grandchildren. He also loved playing pool and going to the domino parlor. Delbert was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. When he became sick he always had his Dallas cowboy blanket by his chair. He also loved to watch OU play. Delbert loved country music, when he went to the doctor he always entertained doctors and nurses with his singing. They all had their favorite songs they requested.
Delbert was a Christian and Baptized at the Hammon First Baptist Church. Delbert loved Oklahoma, but when his health started failing he moved to Hemet, California to be closer to his children. They were a great help to him and he enjoyed having them close. With their help he was able to live at home until his death.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Thelbert and Maudie Noblitt, four sisters, Lila Sifford, Lucille Stalcup, Hazel Morgan and Jean Stubbfield and one brother, Richard Noblitt. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pauline; three sons, Jerry, Gary, and Daniel Noblitt of Hemet, California; daughter, Diana Noblitt of Hemet, California; brother, Jimmy Noblitt of Elk City, Oklahoma; 3 grandsons, Robert Noblitt of Cary, North Carolina, Steve Noblitt of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Travis Noblitt of Hemet, California; three granddaughters, Danielle Wood, Laura Luna, and Shesalia Noblitt all of Hemet, California; 5 great-granddaughters; 3 great-grandsons and one great great-granddaughter; other family and a host of friends. Delbert will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by his wife Pauline.
Memorial services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene, Vici, Oklahoma.
