Delmer Lee Murray was born January 23, 1934 in Avard, Oklahoma. He was 75 years old at the time of his passing on October 3, 2009. He was one of eight children born to Charles and Blanche (McKenna) Murray.

Delmer's school years were spent in Waynoka, Oklahoma.

Delmer was united in marriage to Nancy Bryant in 1953. They were blessed with the birth of their four children; Teresa, Louise, Joyce, and Harold. Delmer's life long career was in auto mechanics. He was well known for his work and could fix just about anything. Delmer made his home in Texas for a number of years, living in Follett, Aransas Pass and Mobeetie.

Delmer accepted Christ into his heart and was baptized in the Baptist Church. He was a member of the Follett Baptist Church and later the Mobeetie Baptist Church.

In 1966 Delmer married Virginia (Tubb) Thompson. They enjoyed spending time camping and fishing together. Delmer was a huge Nascar race fan. He especially loved family gatherings and time they spent together.

After Virginia's passing, Delmer moved to Sayre, Oklahoma to be nearer to his family. His dog and faithful companion, Sandy, could always be found at his side.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Virginia; parents, Charles and Blanche Murray; brothers, John, Bill and Herbert Murray; granddaughter, Teresa Marie; and great-grandson, Rodney.

Survivors include children, Teresa Ruppel and husband Terry of Woodward, OK, Louise Moseley and husband Gary of Sayre, OK, Joyce Everett of Seminole, TX, and Harold Murray and wife Lanell of Woodward, OK; brothers, James Murray and wife Pauline of Hugoton, KS, Larry Murray and wife Evonna of Aline, OK, Eldon Murray and wife Annalee of Woodward, OK; sister, Doris Koon and husband Eddie of Wichita, KS; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a lifetime of friends.
