Dennis "Hop" Dale Salisbury, 91 year old Woodward resident, passed from this life on November 5, 2022 at his home.  Hop was born August 28, 1931 to Joseph Guy and Zilpha (Cutsinger) Salisbury on the family farm southeast of Vici, OK.  He grew up in the Vici community and attended Vici Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1950.

On June 28, 1956, Hop married the love of his life, Mayzel Phillips in Clayton, N.M. and to this union two sons were born: Monte and Danny.  They resided a short time in Vici, OK. before Hop enlisted in the United States Army on August 7, 1956.  He was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany and the newlyweds resided there for a year and a half.  Hop was honorably discharged from active duty on July 16, 1958 and they returned to Vici. Hop worked as a ranch hand for a time on the Cree Ranch and in the oilfield, first as a roughneck and later as a truck driver.  In 1986 Hop and Mayzel moved to make their home in Woodward.   Hop enjoyed having coffee with his friends and especially time shared and friendships made at his business "Hop's Dominoes".  He was an avid domino and card player and also enjoyed fishing with his family and attending rodeos.  He never passed up a chance to go to the horse races and dog races were always a special interest. He was a member of the Woodward Sr. Citizens Center and participated in the activities there.

Hop was a friend to many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Zilpha Salisbury, his wife Mayzel Salisbury, and 15 siblings: Wilbur, Pete, Vern, Arthur, Katherine, Joe, Bob, Mike, Guy Jr. "Tude", Bill, Ella Marie "Sis", Velma "Tine", Melvin "Bud", Stan and John.

Hop is survived by his two sons Danny Salisbury of Woodward, OK, and Monte Salisbury and wife Acquenetta of Woodward, OK; four grandchildren, Ashlie Battaglia of Jones, OK, Cody Salisbury of Miami, FL, Ginger Salisbury and husband Adam of Austin, TX, and Winston Salisbury and wife Jeanette of Las Vegas, NV; five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
