Obituary

Diana Lynn (Williamson) Irving, born June 27, 1949, in Mooreland, Oklahoma, to parents Emma Geraldine (Hunt) and Linn Eugene Williamson, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024 in Seiling, Oklahoma. Diana lived a life filled with love, service, and devotion to her family, community, and faith.

Diana spent her early years in Camargo, Oklahoma, where she was baptized in the 1950s in the old Christian Church. She attended Camargo Public Schools until the 3rd grade before her family moved to Fritch, Texas. Diana later attended high school in Lovington, New Mexico, where she graduated with the class of 1967. She pursued higher education at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM, and Eastern New Mexico State, earning her bachelor's degree in education.

In 1971, Diana moved to Woodward, Oklahoma, where she began her teaching career as a 5th-grade teacher. She was a dedicated educator and an active member of Kappa Kappa Iadota. Diana also proudly served as the head of the Woodward County Spelling Bee for 20 years and received the prestigious "Who's Who Among American Teachers" award, a testament to her passion for teaching.

Diana later moved to Vici, Oklahoma, while continuing to teach in Woodward and also working at the Vici Nursing Home, caring for her grandfather. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Clyde Everett Irving, through a mutual friend, Orphi Grunewald. On February 23, 1980, Diana and Clyde were united in marriage at the Vici First Christian Church, and to this union, a daughter, Emmy, was born. Diana moved to the Mutual area, where she embraced her role as a pastor's wife. She was actively involved in the church, organizing Christmas programs, leading Vacation Bible School, playing the organ, and participating in the Christian Women's Fellowship.

After Clyde's passing, Diana moved to Runaway Bay, Texas, to care for her brother Danny. While there, she became an active member of The Bay Church. In 2022, Diana returned to Woodward, where she resided until her passing.

Diana's life was filled with joy and hobbies she loved, including attending garage sales, playing card games with her dear friend Johnie McNeal, trying her luck at the slot machines, and cheering passionately for the Dallas Cowboys and the OU Sooners.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Linn and Emma Williamson; her loving husband, Clyde Irving; her brother, Danny Williamson; and her nephew, Allen Williamson. Diana is survived by her daughter, Emmy McNeal, and husband Comer of Mutual, OK; granddaughter, Jonna Cook of Mutual; granddaughter, Angela Cook-Bryson and husband Adam of Lyndsay, OK; grandson, Marcus Cook of Weatherford, OK; granddaughter, Cheyenne McNeal of Coldwater, KS; grandson, Jaxon Irving; great-great-granddaughter Aurora Rose Bryson, soon to arrive; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends and loved ones.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Seiling Municipal Hospital for their compassionate care of Diana in her final days.

Diana's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
