Dick Gayle McDonald, 78 year old resident of Winston-Salem, NC, passed from this life on February 29, 2020 in Greensboro, NC. Dick was born July 7, 1941 to Harvey and Hazel McDonald on a farm near Sharon, OK. He attended grade school at Horace Mann Elementary and high school at Woodward. On November 27, 1977, Dick married Margaret Louise Taylor in Texas and to this union four children were shared Lisa, Mark, Nicole, and Georgia. Dick and Margaret made their homes in Woodward, OK, Seguin, TX, Grafton MA, Wetumpka, AL and Winston-Salem, NC. Dick worked as an electrician and was a manager and partner in Sonic Industries. In his spare time he enjoyed trap shooting, boating, fishing, playing cards, a good game of pool and wood working.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Hazel McDonald, sisters Thelma and her husband Harry Smith and Velma Griffith, brothers Johnny and his wife Maxine McDonald, Kenny McDonald, Curlie McDonald, Bill McDonald and Joe and his wife Fairlene McDonald.
He is survived by his wife Margaret McDonald of Winston-Salem, NC; daughter Lisa Dauphin of Piedmont, OK, son Mark McDonald of Mustang, OK, daughter Nicole Bynum of Orange Beach, AL, and daughter Georgia Gimbel of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Allison Dauphin, Haylee McDonald, Hayden McDonald, Madison McDonald, Whitney Riley, Broockylon Buesing, Brittian Parkinson, Taylor Gimbel, Brandon Bynum, Ryan Hall, Katie Bynum and Tyler Bynum; great grandchildren Ella Cooper, Lola Riley, Thomas Riley, Patrick Riley and Maureen Riley; brother Jack and Lovella McDonald of Sharon, OK; sister-in-law Joyce McDonald (wife of Kenny) of Elk City, OK; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
