Obituary

Donna D. Amparan passed from this life on May 27, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Donna was born June 16, 1946 in Woodward, Oklahoma to A.A. "Ham" and Waunita Jo (Steele) Hamilton. She grew up on the family ranch north of Harmon, Oklahoma. Donna attended elementary school and high school at Fargo Public Schools graduating with the class of 1964. She furthered her education at Northwestern State University in Alva, Oklahoma.

In 1966 Donna was united in marriage to Harold Smith at Fargo. They made their home for a time in Alva and then Woodward, where Allen was born, before moving to Biloxi, Mississippi and then to Sacramento, California where Jaida was born. They returned to Oklahoma and lived in Moore.

On June 22, 1982 Donna married Arturo Amparan in Canadian, Texas. They made their home on the family ranch north of Harmon, which was always home to Donna. Art and Donna happily added son Cody to the family.

Donna was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her family and cooking great food for them. She also enjoyed tatting and researching family genealogy. Donna was a real lover of nature and liked to sit on the porch and watch the birds and deer come to water. She especially enjoyed working the ranch with Art and helping him with the daily operations of the trucking company.

Donna was baptized as an infant and was a member of Saint Peters Catholic Church in Woodward. She was also a member and supporter of the Citizens Band Pottawatomi Nation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.A. "Ham" and Waunita Jo Hamilton and by her brother, Dan Hamilton.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are husband, Art Amparan of the home; by children, Cody Amparan, Jaida Hamilton, and Allen Smith; by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and by many friends.
