Obituary
Donna Lea Jackson, born December 20, 1931, passed away to be with the Lord on November 22, 2009.
Donna was born outside of Vici, Oklahoma to George and Cora Lea Altland. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, and two infant brothers and one sister and her brother, Gene Altland. Donna was also preceded in death by her husband of many years, Roger A. Jackson, who passed away in 1988. Donna is survived by her two sons, James and George Jackson, her daughter, Annie Jackson, her daughters-in-law, Nikki and Shelli Jackson, and her grandchildren, Christine Harbolt, Roger and Nathan Jackson, and Sophia, George, Sorell, and Simone Jackson. Donna is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Cadence Harbolt.
Donna was a long-time resident of Vici, Oklahoma, and enjoyed many activities, including dancing, trail riding and traveling. During her travels, she visited several other countries, including Germany, Canada and England. Donna especially enjoyed traveling with her close friend, Margaret Pickering, and Donna and Margaret enjoyed traveling to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for dancing during the winter. Donna also greatly enjoyed going on trail rides with her life long friend, Joanna Peard. Donna also enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend, Marvin Hunt.
Donna attended grade school and high school in Vici and at Oklahoma State University, which she attended for several semesters. Donna especially enjoyed getting together with her classmates from OSU for yearly reunions as well as attending alumni events in Vici.
Donna was an active volunteer in the Vici area, and worked as an advocate at the Vici Nursing Home and for Heartland Shares. Donna also enjoyed living on the family farm, where she loved to work on her many gardens and where she enjoyed throwing parties for friends and relatives over the years.
Donna attended church and especially enjoyed the 23rd Psalm, a Psalm that gave her great comfort at the end.
Donna was a wonderful friend, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by her many friends and relatives.
