Dorothy Jean Cann, born on August 25, 1942, in Higgins, Texas, to Arthur "Art" Maggard and Verda Maggard, passed away surrounded by her loved ones. Raised in Higgins, Dorothy attended school there and formed lifelong bonds within her hometown community. On September 12, 1957, she married William "Dub" Phillips in Wheeler, Texas, and together they welcomed six children: Kathy, Wes, Bill, Wayne, Mike, and Roy Phillips.
In 1963, Dorothy moved to Arnett, Oklahoma, where she would spend the rest of her life, making a home filled with love and dedication to her family. She was a devoted housewife who found great joy in caring for her family, instilling values of love, hard work, and togetherness.
On January 10, 2000, Dorothy married Larry Cann in Potter County, Texas, beginning a new chapter in her life filled with warmth and companionship. Throughout her life, Dorothy was known for her unwavering care for her family and the strong bonds she created with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Verda Maggard; sisters Betty Maggard, Lila Hosier, and Verna Stone; son Roy Phillips; first husband William "Dub" Phillips; second husband Larry Cann; daughter-in-law Cheryl Phillips; and grandson Jerrid Price.
She is survived by her brother Don Maggard; daughter Kathy Phillips; sons Wes Phillips, Bill Phillips, Wayne Phillips, and Mike Phillips; and a multitude of cherished grandchildren: Cole and Whitney Phillips and their family, Adam Phillips and his family, Andrew Newman and his family, Sammy and Colten Goedecke and her family, Brett Phillips, and Clynt Phillips and his family. Dorothy also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren: Paisley Gust, Kinslee Goedecke, Reilly, Remington, Sydney, Tatum, Kingston, and Kellin Phillips, Tana Gillespie, and Gabe Sandoval, along with two great-great-grandsons and one on the way.
Dorothy's legacy of love and dedication to her family will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten by her many friends and loved ones.
