Douglas "Doug" Dale Evans was born July 28, 1961 in Mooreland Oklahoma to Frankie Clay Evans and Mary Jane Salisbury Evans. Doug was a member of the South Persimmon Baptist Church, Sharon, Ok and attended Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Guthrie, OK.
Doug attended Sharon-Mutual Schools all twelve years and graduated in 1979. Doug was active in football, basketball, baseball, and FFA. Doug played in the All-Star Eight Man Football and the 270 Conference. Doug was an honor student, a class officer and FFA officer.
Doug married Alana Beth Noble in Mutual on August 9, 1979; of this union two daughters were born: Lesa Anne Evans and Jessica Dawn Evans. Doug married Donna Joyce Byrd Renschen January 28, 2002, joining her four children, Heith Allen Renschen, Jodi Michelle Renschen, Henry Joseph Renschen, III (Trey), and Tyler Alexander Renschen creating the "Brady Bunch".
Doug started his education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1979 for one semester then went to work in the oil field to support his family for seven years; he worked for Halliburton and Well Tech. Doug received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and minored in Mathematics Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Doug began his career in education at Hobart, moving to Billlings, and Davenport where he taught Mathematics and coached. Doug earned his Master's Degree in Education Administration in 1997 at East Central University. He then went to Geronimo teaching Mathematics and was Elementary Principal then advanced to High School Principal. Doug accepted the Superintendent position at Sharon-Mutual Schools in 2000. While at Sharon-Mutual Schools, Doug also served as High School Principal for one year and coached junior high basketball and baseball. Also while at Sharon-Mutual School Doug was Administrator of the Year for the Northwest Region. Doug enjoyed his seven years at Sharon-Mutual Schools. Doug accepted Fort Towson School Superintendent's position for two years before moving closer to home in July 2009 where he was Superintendent at Coyle Public Schools.
Doug enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and camping, spending time with his family, playing with grandchildren, working in the yard and garden, cooking, woodworking, and watching sports. Doug loved the outdoors.
Doug was very proud of his family and supported his wife and children in pursuing their education and careers.
Doug is survived by his wife Donna Evans of the home, two daughters Lesa and husband Doug Walker of Sharon, OK; Jessica and husband Perry Nelson, of Woodward, OK; Heith Renschen and wife Patrika of Geronimo, Jodi and husband Dane Fields of Lawton, Trey and Tyler of the home. Eleven grandchildren Braydn Lane Woodie, Evan Douglas Nelson, Dakota "Cooter" Dale Walker, Dylan Riley Nelson, Faith Ann Renschen, Hagen Alexandria Renschen, Hank Allen Renschen, P.J. Nelson, Baron Cade Walker, Caramia Marie Nelson, and Taten Douglas Walker. Parents, Frankie and Mary Jane Evans of Sharon, Ok. Sister, Debbie and husband Dennis Ruttman of Hinton Ok, brother, Gary "Chief" Evans and wife Linda of Elmore City, OK. One niece, Stacie and husband Heath Hoock of Sharon, OK, two nephews, Brian Ruttman and wife NuNu of Oklahoma City, OK and Jake Evans and wife Maggie of Grandberry, TX. Father-in-law, LeRoy Byrd of Geronimo, and two brother-in-laws, John Byrd and wife LaReeda of Geronimo, and Jimmy Byrd of Cyril. He is survived by numerous family members and friends. He was also Godfather to Levi Lee and Jade Lee of Vici, OK.
He was proceeded in death by maternal grandparents Vernon and Bethel Salisbury, Paternal grandparents, Cecil and Clara Evans, Mother-in-law Helen Byrd.
