Douglas Haskell Thompson, son of Franklin Haskell Thompson and Eleanor Ann (West) Thompson was born in Bartlesville, OK. on June 20, 1959.  He passed from this life in Dumas, TX. on January 26, 2022 at the age of 62  years.  Frank and Eleanor and their children spent time together in simple ways, such as fishing, swimming, picnicking at Baron Fork Creek, celebrating holidays, going to a park and worshiping at the Church of Christ at 15 ^th Street and Delaware Avenue in Tulsa, OK. where Douglas was baptized at the age of ten.  His early school years were spent at Robert S. Kerr Elementary School and Union Public Schools in Tulsa.  He attended Bixby High School graduating with the class of 1978.  He furthered his education at the University of Tulsa obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business in 1986.  In 1987 he was a recipient of the Outstanding Young Man of America award.  He was employed by the Public Service Company of Oklahoma and received an award for ten years of service.

On September 18, 2004 Laurie Elaine Hays and Douglas Haskell Thompson were united in marriage at Owasso, OK.  They made their home in Arnett, OK. in western Oklahoma. He was a collector of coins, stamps and writing instruments and a member of the Arnett Church of Christ.

His memory will be cherished by his wife, Laurie of Arnett, OK., his siblings, Darla Coghill and husband Jim of Tulsa,OK.,  Terri Nolan and husband Ron of Fredericksburg, VA., Daniel Thompson and wife Susan of Owasso, OK., Dana Thompson and wife Gina of Jenks, OK. and Dale Thompson of Tulsa, OK., other relatives and many friends.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eleanor Thompson and other loved ones.
