Eddie Max Miller

Apr 8, 1952 — Sep 6, 2026

Arnett, OK

Eddie Max Miller, 74, of Arnett, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home south of Arnett, surrounded by the land and life he loved.

Eddie was born on April 8, 1952, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, to Max E. Miller and Norma Lee (Heinsohn) Miller. He was raised in Arnett alongside his older sister, Lola, who eagerly awaited his arrival, and was later joined by his younger siblings, Ted and Nancy. Eddie attended Arnett Public Schools from kindergarten through high school graduation.

From an early age, Eddie developed a passion for agriculture and quickly distinguished himself through his work ethic and dedication. During his senior year at Arnett High School in 1971, he was named a National Finalist for the Star Farmer of America, one of the highest honors awarded through FFA. The following year, he earned the National Tractor Driving Championship, further showcasing his skill and commitment to the agricultural way of life.

After high school, Eddie moved to Stillwater to attend Oklahoma State University. His years at OSU shaped a lifelong passion for the university, and he remained a devoted Cowboy fan who truly bled orange for the rest of his life. While at Oklahoma State, Eddie was a proud member of the Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) fraternity and graduated in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Following college, Eddie returned home to Arnett, where he dedicated his life to farming and ranching in northwest Oklahoma and the Perkins area. He found fulfillment in working the land, caring for livestock, and building a life rooted in family, friendship, and hard work.

Eddie was the proud father of Roger and his pride and joy, Robin. In 1990, he met the love of his life, Susan Elizabeth Schneider. As family and friends often said, "that was it." Their love story began, and they spent the remainder of Eddie's life together, she even made it to the second Christmas! They were married in 1994 and built a home south of Arnett, where they shared countless memories and where Eddie spent his final days. Through that marriage, Eddie proudly welcomed three more daughters into his life: Shannon, Sheri, and Staci.

To know Eddie was to know someone who deeply loved people. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, spending time with friends, playing pitch, and taking drives through the countryside. More than anything, however, he loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest title was "Pa." Whether cheering on his grandchildren, sharing stories, offering advice, or simply spending time together, his family was the center of his world.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Max E. Miller; his mother, Norma Lee Miller; his sister, Lola Marie Pshigoda; and his brother-in-law, Leslie Pshigoda.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Miller; his son, Roger Miller and wife Joan, and their children Hollis, Jenna, and Breece; his daughter, Robin Coleman and husband Jabari, and their children Carmen and Kassandra (parents of Kai and Noah), Jabari Jr., Lincoln, and Lola; daughter Shannon Shoaf and husband Bryan, and their children Brycen and wife Raylynn (parents of Tyler and Traycen), Hannah Wilson and husband Jordan (parents of Scotland and Benjamin), and Harley; daughter Sheri Chance and husband Robert, and their children David and Trystyn Griffin and son Walker, Caelyn and Brady Jardot (parents of Bralyn), and Paige and Ulysses Vazquez (parents of Evie, Eli, and Ezra); and daughter Staci Pennington and her children Coco, Izzi, and Breaker Pennington.

He is also survived by his brother, Ted Miller and wife Terry; his sister, Nancy Vincent and husband Scott; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a lifetime of cherished friends.

Eddie's 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren were his greatest joy. He loved each of them fiercely, and they knew him simply as "Pa." His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the values he embodied, the land he cared for, and the family he adored.

Though he will be deeply missed, Eddie's memory will remain alive in every sunset over an Oklahoma pasture, every OSU game day, every hand of pitch, and every story shared by those fortunate enough to know and love him.
