Edith Mae Lewright was born January 17, 1911 to J.M. and Anna Hughes Scott in rural Kansas. Edith passed from this life on November 9, 2007 at the age of 96 years, 9 months and 22 days.
Edith attended Arnett Schools graduating with the Class of 1929. She married Earl Lewright on December 23, 1931 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma and to this union one daughter was born, DeAnn.
Early in their marriage they co-owned and worked in a bakery and then later the Plains Creamery. The last job Edith had was a checker at Bob's IGA. Her special interest was making quilts all by hand for her family and friends.
Edith was very active in the Eastern Stars and was a 50 year member. She enjoyed camping and was very active in her church as a Sunday School Teacher and United Methodist Women helping make noodles for their bake sale and luncheon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Lewright, her parents, J.M. and Anna Scott, her brothers, Harold and Milton Scott and their spouses, her sisters, Syble Folks and Fraidie Devenney and their spouses, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Forrest and Chloe Lewright.
Edith is survived by her daughter, DeAnn Lewright of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; special friend of the family, Vernita Price of Sonoma, California; several nieces and nephews; other family and many, many friends.
