Edward (Ted) Rucker Theodore, 76-year-old Mandeville, LA resident, passed from this life on March 29, 2017 in his home. Edward was born October 19, 1940 to Albert and Elizabeth (Butts) Theodore in Sacramento, CA. The family lived on the outskirts of Leedey, OK, where Edward attended Leedey Schools and graduated from Leedey High School. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and went through extensive military training.
On May 14, 1971, Edward married Caroll Salicis at the Methodist Church in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. To this union, he welcomed into his family two daughters Julie and Nancy. Edward faithfully served his country as a flight engineer on the T-29 Aircraft, did three tours in Vietnam, and as a recruiter in the Air Force. After 28 years of service he retired from the Air Force. His secondary career was as a Washington State Driver's License Examiner, in which he performed until retiring from that career also.
Edward was a member of the National Rifle Association and has two military memorials, one located in Leedey. He was a fierce defender of our constitution. Edward enjoyed sky diving, boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a gun-toting, joke-telling, prank-pulling, friend of many family man.
Edward is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Butts, father Albert Theodore, step-father Reverend John Marrison and step-sister Shirley Touchtone
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Carroll Theodore; two daughters Julie Pearson and Nancy Pearson-Wetzel; two grandchildren Chantel Dean and Cameron Wetzel; four great-grandchildren Kensley, Kadence, Odin, and Remi; one sister Julia Price; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
