Elmer Charles Rupprecht was born January 26, 1913 in Ochiltree, TX, south of Perryton, TX to George Phillip Rupprecht and Mary (Wurster) Rupprecht. He attended school in Perryton where he was active in many sporting activities and captain of the Perryton Ranger football team. Elmer graduated from Perryton High School and was drafted into the CCC (Civil Conservation Core) camp. On October 28, 1934 he married Leta Mae Price, of Higgins, TX. They made their home in Perryton until 1944, when they moved to Logan, OK, north of Follett, TX for a period of time, then making their home in Follett until 1951 when they moved to Arnett and have resided since.
Elmer was a member of the Arnett United Methodist Church and active in the community. Elmer owned and operated a dairy milk pick up route for many years. Elmer loved traveling, camping, and fishing.
Mr. Rupprecht died May 15, 2008 at the age of 95 years, 3 months, and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leta Mae (Price) Rupprecht, a daughter, Mae Yvonne Miller (Rupprecht), a great-granddaughter, her brothers and a sister.
Elmer is survived by two sons, Charles E. Rupprecht and wife Mattie of Norman, OK and Walter C. Rupprecht of Luther, OK; five grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Arnett United Methodist Church with burial following at DeBolt Cemetery. Shaw Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
