Elva Ruth (Broughton) Fitz was born in Snomack, OK. on February 4, 1937.  In her early childhood she moved to Seminole, OK. where she attended school up through the 8th grade.  While in Seminole she accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of eleven.  She then moved to Wilson, OK. where everyone was a dear friend to her – no matter what the age.  Wilson was where she graduated from high school and worked for the telephone company from 1955-1962 and was a place that left special memories of a lifetime.

Elva married Norvie Fitz on June 30, 1960 and they moved to Shattuck, OK. in 1962.  Their first child, Nolan was born in 1963.  Juanell was born in 1965 and Joe was born in 1972.  Elva was fortunate enough to stay at home with her children as well as a host of other children throughout the years.  For a period of three years she worked for the Newman Memorial Clinic and for three and a half years Norvie and Elva worked the Service Station.

Her philosophy for life was to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  She tried to be pleasant and always greet everyone with a smile.  Elva completed her early journey on May 16, 2024 at the age of 87 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents A.C. and Elsie (White) Broughton, her beloved husband Norvie Fitz, her daughter Juanell Dunlap, three brothers and two sisters, three nephews, one niece, a sister-in-law and other loved ones and friends.

Elva is survived by her sons Nolan Fitz and wife Leslie, and Joe Fitz, son in law, Craig Dunlap, grandchildren Justin and wife Deana Fitz, Julie Fitz, Jerry Fitz, Sonia and Heather Dunlap, Ariel Callaway and husband Trenton, and Jade Fitz and a host of great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Two sisters-in-law Gayle Broughton and Shirley Broughton, several nephews and nieces as well as other relatives, neighbors and friends.
