Obituary

Ethel Cox, of Taloga, passed from this life on November 26, 2018.  Ethel was born the 10 th of 12 children to Lige and Sarah Gregory in Morehead, Kentucky on January 8, 1934.  She married the love of her life Herbert Eugene Cox in Taloga, OK on August 8, 1952, and to this union five girls, Pamela, Brenda, Carol, Cheryl, and Robin were born.  The family lived for a time in the cities of Mansfield and Shelby, OH before returning to Taloga where Ethel was employed by the Dewey County Courthouse for 26 years.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, flower gardening, collecting Elvis memorabilia, bird watching, cooking, and shopping.  However her favorite hobby was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Eugene Cox; daughter Robin Rene Lowery; six sisters, Mildred, Ruth, Bessie, Irene, Verna, and Flossie; and four brothers, Thomas, Edward, James, and Vincent.

Ethel is survived by her four daughters, Pamela C. Welch and husband Tom of Indian Springs, AL, Brenda Kay Holcomb and husband Kenneth of Sayre, OK; Carol Jolene Ramsey and husband David of Seiling, and Cheryl Lynn Ragains and husband Kenneth of Taloga, OK; a brother Grover Gregory of Shiloh, OH; and a brother in law Loren Gale Cox of New Cumberland, WV, as well as eleven grandchildren; Brandon Reed, Justin Reed, Julie Bilbrey, Shelley Shockey, Kenneth Garibay, Cora Beth Evans, Mandy Jo Elliott, Jennifer Gilmer, Brett Ragains, Daisy Haffner, and Rusty Whetstone; fifteen great-grandchildren, special niece Carol Stonebraker of Veedersburg, IN, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
