Florence Delores (Dryden) Hutchens was born December 12, 1929, east of Vici, OK to David Isaac & Opal (Duncan) Dryden. She passed from this life on June 30, 1995 in the Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, at the age of 65 years 6 months and 18 days.
Delores was raised east of Vici and attended the Sunnyside School through her elementary years, transferring to Vici Public Schools, where she graduated with the class of 1947.
Delores and Everett Hutchens were united in marriage at Canadian, TX on July 2nd, 1948 and made their home in the Vici Community. To this union four children were born; Everett Lee (Butch), Debra Elaine, Leslie Wayne (Buddy), and Janie Leann.
Everett & Delores established their business, Everett's Welding and Repair in 1960. Throughout the years, the entire family worked at various jobs in the shop. Delores served as bookkeeper, and wherever else she was needed, but always took time to be a loving wife, mother and "ma-ma" as she was affectionately called by her grandkids. Delores enjoyed working at the shop and associating with the public. She continued to do so until the time of her death.
Delores was an active person always ready to go. Delores & Everett spent many enjoyable hours together checking ther cattle and attending to other farm duties. They enjoyed feeding their buffalo, the ducks and the geese. She was especially fond of Blackie and Morris, their dog and cat.
Delores loved her family and grandkids. A special joy was having family get togethers at the farm. There wasn't many weekends that went by that either some or all of the kids and grandkids gathered for a big breakfast or dinner. She enjoyed watching the kids ride the horses and motorcycles, swim in the pond, jump on the trampoline and just being with her family. Delores liked to attend trail rides, cattle drives, basketball, baseball, and t-ball games. She also was an avid shopper, always ready to buy a new pair of shoes or outfit. She enjoyed eating out as this gave her the opportunity to socialize with friends. Going to the beauty shop was one of her top priorities.
Delores was preceded in death by her father David Isaac Dryden, her mother Opal (Dryden) Allen, her father and mother-in-law Buck and Francis Hutchens, two sister-in-laws Reta Allen, and Neta Nicholson, and one brother-in-law Bob Allen.
