IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Flossie Erma
Smith
May 19, 1921 – November 3, 2021
Flossie Erma Smith, 100 year old Arnett, OK. resident, gained her new residence in heaven on November 3, 2021. She was born May 19, 1921 to parents Walter Horace and Pearl Iona (White) Pratt at their home four miles west and five miles south of Arnett, OK. Three brothers and five sisters shared the home with her. Her first eight school years were at Allman Country School. Her remaining four years were at Arnett High School, graduating in 1939. Flossie cherished memories of school days and especially playing basketball. Flossie's youth introduced her to Sunday School and Church at Tierce Chapel Methodist Church. She was baptized at the Arnett Baptist Church and later baptized at the Arnett Church of Christ.
Flossie was united in marriage to Lloyd J. Boyd in 1939. To that marriage they brought three children, Donna Joy, Kenneth Dewayne and Clyde Jay. In 1972 her beloved husband of 33 years, Lloyd J. Boyd passed away.
Flossie loved their farm and dairy life spent two miles west and one and a half miles north of Arnett. During those years she enjoyed the Ladies Quilting Club, times of fishing, swimming, boating, coyote hunting and picnicking with family, friends and neighbors. She looked forward to weekly neighborhood pitch card games and helping at the Arnett American Legion's Saturday night dances too.
Flossie married Calvin Vincent in 1973. She was richly rewarded by sharing in the lives of his father, Orb and his children, Garry Vincent, Scott Vincent, Mavontine Slavin and Darla Whitten and their children. In 1983 her beloved husband of 10 years, Calvin Vincent passed away.
Flossie married Edwin Smith in 1984, which allowed her to share the lives of Edwin's two children, Eddie Jay Smith and his wife Dayon and Rita Gail Smith Lacarde and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2008 her beloved husband of 24 years, Edwin Smith, passed away.
Flossie continued enjoying life to its fullest. Time shared visiting with everyone was always precious and remained most valuable to her. She took pride in her handy work (embroidery), her home and yard work. She looked forward to dressing up weekdays to drive Geneva Clem (her sister-in-law) to lunch at the Arnett Senior Citizens Center. She cherished reminiscing with family and friends at the center and enjoyed baking and embroidering to help with the centers fund raisers. She continued her daily trips to the center until a few months before her passing. She was truly a wealth of knowledge and walking genealogy expert on community, relatives, friends and extended family. Flossie was a loving and giving inspiration to all her family and friends on positive thinking and living life to its fullest.
