Obituary

Fred Fauna Ferrell was born December 15, 1930 near Leedey, Oklahoma and passed away at the age of 82 on May 29, 2013. He attended school at Rhea and Leedey, and then went to Oklahoma Barber College and Oklahoma Christian College.

Fred married Frances Jean Sherwood of Hammon, Oklahoma on May 30, 1953. They made their home southeast of Leedey on the family farm. In 1955 they moved to Oklahoma City where Fred went to Oklahoma Christian College and worked as a barber. In 1960 they moved to Elk City, Oklahoma where he continued working for fifteen years, most of which was at the Sixty-Six Barber Shop. He and his wife Frances moved back to the family farm southeast of Leedey in 1975 where they have farmed since.

Fred was a member of the Church of Christ where he served as a Bible teacher, a song leader, a deacon and as an elder.

Fred is survived by his wife Frances; children Teddy Ferrell and wife Debra of Leedey, Oklahoma and Amy and husband Arthur of Weatherford, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Scott Ferrell of Norman, Oklahoma, Sandra Latham of Hutto, Texas, Emily Western of Elk City, Oklahoma, Shane Carman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Brett Carman of Weatherford, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Farice Basler of Bonners Ferry, Idaho and Fincel Fariss and husband Ira of Leedey, Oklahoma.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Annie (Graybill) Ferrell; four brothers, Felix, Floy, Flyn and Fay; three sisters, Frady Holcomb, Festus Martin and Flavil Martin.
