Gary Ray Chance, passed from this life on October 18, 2022, at the Shattuck Nursing Center. He was born on January 2, 1952, to parents Verlon and Elaine (Campbell) Chance in Mooreland, Oklahoma.

Gary grew up in Mooreland where he graduated from Mooreland High School in 1971. He continued his education at Oklahoma Panhandle State University obtained a bachelor's degree in industrial arts. On August 3, 1973, he married the love of his life Roberta Ann Woodrum in Hardesty, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born Kevin and Kylene. The family made their home in Guymon, Purcell, Mustang and ended up in Shattuck, Oklahoma. Gary worked for G.T.E. and later at Panhandle Telephone (PTCI) as a tech.

Gary enjoyed woodworking, making knives, creating a wonderful Christmas display, and watching western movies. Gary had the honor of being the Grand Marshall for the Shattuck Christmas Parade in 2021.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Verlon and Elaine Chance. He is survived by his wife: Roberta (Shattuck), two children Kylene Rehder and husband Cody (Shattuck, OK) and Kevin Chance (Edmond, OK), granddaughters Kinley and Blakely Rehder (Shattuck, OK), three sisters: Connie Sharp (Weatherford, OK), Jody Rinehart (Mooreland, OK) and Judy Morton (Piedmont, OK), one uncle Virgil Chance (Dover, DE) nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will be having a private funeral service, with burial to follow at Shattuck Memorial Cemetery.
