Gary Dean Girton, 64-year-old resident of Gage, Oklahoma passed from this life on March 27, 2014. He was born December 23, 1949 in Woodward, Oklahoma to Leon and Carrie Girton. He lived north of Gage on the family farm until the age of 3. At this time they moved into town where he started his public school education. Gary attended Gage Public School until graduation. After High School Gary went on to further his education at Murray State College where he received his private pilot's license. He then continued his studies at Panhandle State University with a Major in Agriculture. On August 12, 1978 Gary married the love of his life, Sandra Elaine Hull, of Gage. They lived in Amarillo, Texas for a short time after their marriage, until Sandra finished her nursing degree. Upon completion, they moved back to Gage to start a family and live out their lives together. They were blessed with their first son, Levi Blaine Girton, on September 11, 1981. Shortly after, they welcomed the birth of twin boys, Erin Blake Girton and Eric Blair Girton, on November 17, 1982. Gary's heart remained focused on his family throughout his life. He supported them by working as a Senior Completion Engineer for 27 ½ years at Baker Hughes. In his free time, Gary enjoyed fishing & camping, gardening & canning, cooking in the kitchen, and most importantly spending time with his three boys and loving wife. He was always apt to teach, patient, and looked for the good in everyone. Gary was baptized at the age of 17 in the First Baptist Church at Gage, where he remained a member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Carrie Girton, and sister, Julianna Keeble. Gary is survived by his wife Sandra Girton of Gage; son, Levi Girton and fiance Rachael Paxson of Woodward, Oklahoma; son Erin Girton and wife Ruth of Stillwater, Oklahoma; son Eric Girton and wife Leslie of Gage; granddaughter Katie Ann and grandson Derick; sister, Jane Hutchins of La Junta, Colorado; brother, Larry Girton of Gage; and a host of other family and friends.
